Palm trimming that keeps palms healthy, and removal when they're done.

Queen palms, sabals, pygmy dates, Washingtonias, and foxtails are on almost every Central Florida street, and most of them are trimmed wrong. We take off the dead fronds, seed and flower stalks, and loose boots without stripping the crown into a "hurricane cut," and when a palm is dead, diseased, or in the wrong spot, we remove it and grind the stump.

No hurricane cuts

Green fronds feed the palm and protect the bud. We remove what's dead or hanging below horizontal and leave the healthy crown, which is how palms stay strong in a storm.

Seeds, fruit, and stalks gone

Queen palm fruit, date clusters, and flower stalks come off before they drop and stain your driveway, pool deck, or pavers.

Removal and stump grinding

Dead, leaning, or diseased palms come down in controlled sections near the house, and the stump is ground out so you can replant or sod.

How it works

  1. Look at every palm

We check each palm's crown, spear leaf, and trunk, point out anything dead or diseased, and give you a written quote for the whole yard.

  2. Trim or remove

Dead fronds, stalks, and boots come off cleanly; palms that need to go come down in sections, away from the house and pool.

  3. Clean up

Fronds, seeds, and debris hauled away, beds and lawn raked, so all you see is the result.

Common questions

How often should palm trees be trimmed in Florida?

Most palms need a trim about once a year, removing only fronds that are fully brown or hanging below horizontal, plus fruit and flower stalks. Fast growers like queen palms may need it more often. Cutting off green fronds doesn't make a palm healthier; it slows it down.

What's wrong with a hurricane cut?

Stripping a palm down to a few upright fronds removes the leaves that feed it and protect the growing bud. Over-trimmed palms are weaker, grow a narrow "pencil" trunk, and are more likely to fail in wind, not less.

How do I know if my palm tree is dead?

Look at the spear, the newest frond in the center of the crown. If it's brown, wilted, or pulls out easily, or the whole crown has collapsed, the palm is usually dead even if a few older fronds are still green. We can confirm it during a free quote.

Do you remove palm trees and grind the stumps?

Yes. We remove palms of any size, including tall queen palms and Washingtonias near homes and pools, and grind the stump so the spot can be replanted or sodded.

How much does palm tree trimming cost?

It depends on the number of palms, their height, the species, and access. A few short palms in a front bed cost far less than tall palms over a pool cage. We give a free written quote for the whole yard after seeing it, and photo quotes by text are often same-day.
